WhatsApp has finally caught up to the competition and upped the file size restriction. Large files of up to 2GB can now be shared.
WhatsApp also intends to expand the range of emoji message emotions from Thanks to Sad, Surprised, Like, Laugh, and Love to cover all emojis and skin tones.
WhatsApp groups are also getting emoji message replies.
We’re excited to announce that reactions are coming to WhatsApp starting with 👍❤️😂😮😢🙏 and with all emojis and skin-tones to come. pic.twitter.com/086JnVS5Ey

WhatsApp is also increasing the number of people allowed in group chat video calls to 32 now with a dedicated button.
Group Admins can now delete a message sent by any member for all users.
The headline feature WhatsApp announced is Communities – a new feature that will make it easier to manage several related groups.
“That way people can receive updates sent to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them,” WhatsApp says.
“Communities will also contain powerful new tools for admins, including announcement messages that are sent to everyone and control over which groups can be included,” WhatsApp continues.
Communities will make it possible for admins to organize groups under one umbrella, send announcements, and decide which groups can be part of their community to help make group conversations work for their organization.

WhatsApp didn’t give a clear timeline of when these features should be expected but like tradition, Beta users will get access first before rolling out publicly.
