Wave Mobile Money has announced that it has introduced free bill payments for its users across the country. In a tweet shared by the Country Manager on Twitter, he explained that users can pay for Utility bills such as Electricity, Water, PayTv free of charge using the Wave Mobile Money Platform.
Following its success in Kenya, Mobile Money has lifted about a million people out of poverty. And yet, over 10 years later, most Africans still lack access to affordable ways to save, transfer or borrow the money they need to build businesses or provide for their families. On a continent where over half the population has no bank account, Wave has set itself out to build the first modern financial network with no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere.
Amid exorbitant government taxes, outrageous service fees, and withdrawal charges, all of which have made mobile money service quite expensive, Wave has come into the country with a series of solutions. Users of the platform can deposit, withdraw money for free, additionally, they can send money for only 1%.
With the latest addition, users can now pay bills like Yaka, NWSC, GOtv, and DSTv at no charge whatsoever.
