Airtel Uganda recently introduced the eSIM service that allows customers to enjoy the convenience of having multiple SIM cards without needing more SIM card slots. In this article we’re going to discuss how to get an Airtel eSim in Uganda.
eSIM which stands for embedded SIM, allows you to connect to your network without a physical SIM card. Instead of a physical and removable SIM, an eSIM consists of software installed onto an Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) chip permanently attached to your phone.
Steps to get an Airtel eSIM in Uganda.
Step 1: You have to first confirm if your phone is compatible and here’s how to know.
Dial *#06# to check if your phone is eligible. If your phone qualifies, you will see an EID Serial number. Only devices with EID codes are eligible.
Step 2: Visit the nearest Airtel shop with your original and valid national ID or passport to get your eSIM. (The eSIM swap is for FREE)
Scan the eSIM QR code with your smartphone.
Step 3: The eSIM setup for the Airtel number will be downloaded and installed by the phone. Your eSIM will be ready to use after a successful swap.
