This guide will walk you through a step-by-step process for checking your data balance on MTN Mifi. You can use the USSD shortcode, the MiFi online administration interface, or a mobile device to enter the MiFi Simcard.
Option 1: Using USSD Shortcode to Check MTN MiFi Data Balance
- Press the call button after dialing 1501#.
- Select the fourth option, Check Balance.
- Finally, choose option 2: Check Other Number.
- Press the “SEND” button after entering the MIFI number.
- The data balance for your MiFi will display on the screen.
It should be noted that using this method, requires you to have a registered MiFi number in your name or if both lines were registered using the same details.
Option 2:Use MiFI web Management interface Check Data Balance on your MTN MiFi
This is the commonest method that requires you to use MiFI’s web management interface to view your data balance.
- Connect your PC to the MTN MIFI.
- Turn the MIFI on.
- Then, under WIFI connections, select the MIFI name.
- Open your computer’s favourite browser.
- Go to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and type in the address.
- After that, you must input your MIFI username and password.
- Type in admin as the login.
- Then type in the password “admin.”
- The MTN Admin page will appear on the screen.
- Select Manage Accounts from the Home tab.
- A USSD box will appear on the screen.
- Dial *131# to view your MIFI data balance.
Option 3: Use a Mobile Device to Check MiFi data Balance
If you can use the above-listed methods then you can choose to check data balance the traditional way. Follow the prompts as listed below;
- Turn off the MiFi.
- Open the back cover and remove the MTN sim card.
- Insert the sim card into any phone.
- After the network has connected successfully, dial *131# and press the Okay button.
- Your data balance will pop up on the screen.
