Spotify overheats iPhones on iOS 15 and drains 30% battery per hour

Spotify overheats iPhones

After a few days of iOS 15’s release, Spotify users on iPhone are reporting complaints that the music streaming app is draining around 30% of battery per hour of streaming and overheating the phone.

In the wake of this, Spotify has also come out to confirm the reports in a statement that read;

“We’ve passed your info on to the relevant team and we can confirm they are currently looking into it.”

Spotify shares on how to go about this issue by disabling Background App Refresh. Go to Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh.

Spotify repeatedly offers its advice about removing and reinstalling the app, but it is not working for at least some users.

“Battery would drain within an hour if I let it run, but have not as to how hot it gets,” wrote one user.
